PORCELAIN CROWN

They are coatings, the inner surface of which is made of precious metal alloy and the upper structure is designed as porcelain. Although it was preferred as a popular aesthetic treatment method in the past years, it has lost its popularity in aesthetic zone applications with the spread of options such as aesthetic coatings such as e-max-zirconium and laminate treatment.

It is a preferred treatment option when:
- In teeth with excessive material loss and where filling is thought to be unsuccessful,
- In the restoration of teeth that have been coated before but whose gingival harmony has deteriorated over time,
- For patients who want an aesthetic smile design for various reasons but seek economical options,
- In cases where implants cannot be applied in tooth deficiencies, in the bridge option,
- Fixed prostheses on implants.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES?

Metal-supported porcelain crown applications, which are an economical option compared to aesthetic coating options, are a treatment option applied in a short time.

HOW IS METAL SUPPORTED PORCELAIN APPLICATION DONE?

After the clinical and radiological examinations, the planned patient's teeth are slightly abraded under local anesthesia and the necessary intraoral preparation stages are completed. According to the gingival condition, the measurement is taken with 3D digital scanners and the laboratory stage is started. The restoration, which is prepared after the infrastructure and aesthetic rehearsals, is applied to the tooth surface with special adhesives.

Temporary teeth are prepared for the patient after the intraoral preparation stage until the final restoration is applied, and it is aimed not to affect patients’ social life during the treatment process.

WHAT ARE THE SUBJECTS TO BE CONSIDERED AFTER THE TREATMENT?

Metal-supported crown porcelains are restorations that can be used for many years as long as there is no gingival incompatibility. As in all other restorations, keeping oral hygiene high and regular dentist control are important criteria that will prolong the life of the restoration.
